Autumn is a time to retreat to our listening spaces and fine-tune our hi-fis to get that perfect sound. We’ve had some beautiful Linn Sondek LP12 Turntables in for servicing, refreshing, and upgrading — each holding musical memories. It’s always a pleasure to get them playing music again with improved performance.
As we move into the darker half of the year, there’s no better time to lose ourselves in music. We’re loving the new EPs by OneOhTrix Point Never and Dave’s new LP, on the new Harbeth XD2 loudspeakers - the craftsmanship and design improvements bring the sound even closer to how these producers intended.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Velocity Press book launch last month. We shared hip-hop records, stories, and listened to underground classics on the Wilson Audio WATT/Puppys. Getting like-minded music lovers together is why we love what we do.
Next month, Thurs. 4th December, legendary jungle producer, deejay & remixer Nookie joins us in the shop. He’ll be spinning tunes on our Technics 1210s & TPI System and sharing insights into his music making. He’s shaped some of the best British dance music of the last 30 years — don’t miss it!
Often, the best hi-fi system isn’t about price or power — it’s about matching components to your room, music, and preferences. Read Jason Kennedy’s guide “How to Choose the Best Hi-Fi System for Your Space” for tips on acoustics, taste, and emotional connection.
We’ve added some Pre-owned items to the online shop — including a Rega Planar 10 Turntable with Aphelion 2 MC Cartridge.
If you’re in West London, visit the Serpentine for Peter Doig’s House of Music - vibrant paintings with lions & dub music. What could be better!
See you soon,
Dean

Calling all Junglists!
We’re continuing our celebration of British Music Culture with a true pioneer - Nookie (aka Gavin Cheung) - who will be joining us at Soundstage Hi-Fi - Thursday 4th December | 6–9pm
From “You Got Me Burnin’” as Cloud 9, and “The Sound of Music” to co-producing the stone-cold classic – “Terrorist” by The Renegade ft. Ray Keith - with its heavy rhythmic drums and that sub-bass! - Nookie helped define the sound of Jungle and Drum & Bass.
With releases on iconic labels Reinforced, Moving Shadow, and Good Looking Records, his legacy runs deep in the roots of drum & bass.
He’ll be chatting with Dean, and Colin from Velocity Press, about his life in music, as well as spinning tunes on our Technics 1210s through the reference TPI System - a rare chance to hear jungle / d&b classics on a world-class hi-fi setup.
Tickets are super limited - Call Dean on: 020 8440 9509 to reserve your spot!

Music & CultureHouse of Music / Dave / Wildstyle LP / Oneohtrix Point Never
We’re constantly playing the new Dave album “The Boy who played the Harp” in the demo room at the moment. Such an introspective and heartfelt album feels even more intimate through the dCS DACX. The lyricism and production are incredible. It features Kano & James Blake, and will definitely be on all of the albums of the year lists!
We visited ‘Peter Doig’s: House of Music’ exhibition earlier this month - if you have an afternoon to relax, then this is the place to be - we could’ve happily spent hours in here.
Soundsystem Culture at Peter Doig’s House of Music exhibition
Mr Bongo Records has released a special edition of the classic hip-hop soundtrack for Wildstyle. It includes instrumentals, unreleased tunes, as well as postcards and a poster. If you don’t own the original on vinyl, this is essential!
Always pushing the boundaries, by looking backwards, is Oneohtrix Point Never - he has a new album ‘Tranquiliser’ coming out on Warp Records, From the singles he’s teased, this will be his most melodic and accessible album yet.
