Soulnote A-0 v2 Integrated Amplifier

£2,499.00

The Soulnote A-0 Version 2 is a minimalist, high-end integrated amplifier built around a fully discrete, non-negative feedback (non-NFB) circuit for maximum transparency. Delivering 10W via a refined single push-pull output stage and four-stage Darlington configuration, focuses on sound purity over power.

A newly developed bias circuit enhances signal-to-noise performance, while flexible pre-out options (RCA and XLR) add system versatility. Mechanical design features - including a non-fixed top cover and direct grounding construction - further contribute to its open, dynamic, and natural sound character.

Soulnote A-0 Integrated Amplifier - Version 2

TECHNOLOGY

Full discrete non-NFB circuit

An extremely simple configuration, consisting merely of a power amplifier with a selector and volume control, is identical to that of SOULNOTE‘s flagship integrated amplifier A-3.

Single push-pull output stage using TO-220 transistors

The final output stage employs TO-220 transistors with low Cob and high-frequency characteristics in a single push-pull configuration. This is a high-end amplifier prioritising quality, achievable only by limiting maximum output to 10W.

Four-stage Darlington circuit

Delivering a maximum output of 10W while employing the same four-stage Darlington configuration as A-1 ver.2 and A-2 ver.2. Even at low volumes, it demonstrates drive capability, producing air pressure changes.

Newly developed bias circuit

A newly developed bias circuit is adopted. S/N has been dramatically improved.

Enhanced pre-out function

  • For the pre-out output, a powerful High mode is selectable, which outputs the loudspeaker output signal directly. A Low mode is also selectable, where the output is attenuated for easier handling.

  • When selecting the pre-amplifier, a mode has been applied that outputs the loudspeaker output signal. A mode that cuts off the loudspeaker output is also selectable.

  • The pre-out terminals feature both RCA and XLR connectors. The XLR terminals are configured as: [1] GND [2] HotA [3] Floating GND, enabling the noise-cancelling benefits inherent to balanced connections. Using SOULNOTE non-shielded balanced cables such as RBC-1 allows the pre-amplifier to deliver its maximum potential.

Non-fixed top cover

The top cover is not fixed. This achieves a natural sound field and a sense of openness.

Direct mechanical grounding construction

By positioning a foot directly beneath the transformer, its vibration is released directly outside the chassis. Furthermore, employing a three-point support system via spike feet eliminates sound muddiness caused by chassis damping, achieving a vibrant and soulful sound.
